YMMV / C-12: Final Resistance

Go To

  • Anti-Climax Boss: The showdown with Dan Carter is a rather easily solvable Puzzle Boss where all you have to do is uncover his weak point. Once you do uncover it, all you have to do is shoot at said weak spot for about five seconds and he's dead.
  • Complete Monster: Major Dan Carter is a high-ranking official within the alien army. A former soldier aiding the resistance, Dan defected and joined the aliens once he realized humanity was losing the fight, and willingly allowed himself to be turned into a cyborg. As a cyborg, Dan helped the aliens kill members of the resistance and kidnap humans so they could be converted into cyborg soldiers for the aliens' armies. After the resistance starts to heavily sabotage the aliens' plans, Dan kidnaps his own wife, Dr. Carter, in hopes of having her turned into a cyborg, and also in an attempt to incapacitate the resistance's morale. When Dan discovers that the aliens plan on poisoning Earth's atmosphere in order to wipe out all life on the planet, Dan is more than happy leaving humanity to die all so he can save himself.
  • Event-Obscuring Camera: The camera has a bad habit of getting jammed behind a barrier or obstruction, preventing the player from seeing where Vaughn is. It's also very sensitive to move around.
  • That One Attack: The Alien Leader has a dreadful green laser attack that can drain your shields in under a second. What makes it worse, sometimes the Leader hovers around and moves in a way that makes said attack nearly impossible to dodge. Even with maximum health and five shields, this attack can easily get you killed if you don't avoid it.
  • That One Boss: The fight against the second alien tank. Unlike the first and third encounters, Vaughn has no access to a turret. Which means you have to use your regular weapons—which take considerably longer to damage the tank. And if you're low on shields/ammo before this fight begins, you're screwed.
