YMMV / Batman '66

Go To

YMMV for the comic book:

  • Broken Base: The crossover with the Wonder Woman (1975) tie-in comic Wonder Woman '77 was divisive, with certain aspects even being disliked by reviewers who generally liked the crossover. The most divisive aspect was, no doubt, the idea that the Joker caused Alfred's death in the interim, and the resulting fatal beatingnote  Bruce gave him caused him to hang up the cowl. First, because it seemed to jar with the series' upbeat, pop tone for something so grim to happen, and second, because some pointed out that the Riddler, not the Joker, was Batman's most homicidal arch-enemy in the series.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Catwoman's one-time apprentice Pussycat and Shame's fiancee Calamity Jan are both characters for the show who don't appear in this continuation, despite some good opportunities for them to (a prison talent show and Shame's reappearances respectively), to the disappointment of many fans.

YMMV for the pinball table:

  • Obvious Beta: The game was released with unfinished software, made apparent by the missing rules, bugs, and few callouts and animations. Since then, programmer Lyman Sheats had been releasing updates to polish up the game. The code finally reached version 1.00 after two years of development, although a good chunk of the game had already been complete for months before that, and the end result is widely considered impressive.
