- Complacent Gaming Syndrome: In multiplayer PvP, there's really no reason to play as anything other than a Predator or a Minigun Marine, as they're just that much more powerful than any other class.
- Even Better Sequel: Alien Vs. Predator (Jaguar), while considered a great game for its time, is dragged down by its maze-like level design in the vein of Wolfenstein 3-D, with zero vertical movement. This time around the three characters have more varied abilities, together with more realistic looking levels, providing three distinct experiences.
- No Problem with Licensed Games: Like its predecessor, the game was praised for being a fun shooter with three unique protagonists and gameplay styles.
- Scrappy Mechanic: In the original release of the game, you cannot save within missions, a glaring omission for a PC game and especially considering the randomized nature of levels with several instant-kill enemies. The Gold Edition update added the feature.
