- Overlapping with Heartwarming in Hindsight, The Sparkle in his Eye has Cheese Sandwich giving Pinkie an engagement ring off-screen before he leaves town. In canon's series finale, a little over two and a half years later, they've gotten married in the intervening years.
- Additionally, seeing Kratos viewing raising Pinkie Pie as My Greatest Second Chance is heartwarming now that God of War (PS4) has him adopting this same attitude towards his son Atreus.
