Brunswick Arc- The Adel Aka Rewrite
is a RWBY fan-comic by Caboosemcgrief. It's based off of a video by the Youtuber Adel Aka.
The story is a short rewrite of the Brunswick Farm arc. It ties everything into an alternate backstory for Adam where he was raised on the farm with his mother. Adam and his mother faced abuse, but they wouldn't leave the farm because it was still deemed safer than the outside world.
This webcomic provides examples of:
- Alternate Universe Fic: Brunswick Arc gives Adam a different origin story from canon. He was born and raised on Brunswick Farm with his mother.
- Comic-Book Adaptation: The comic is an adaptation of a Youtube video revolving around fixing Adam's characterization by retooling him.
- Parental Abandonment: Adam lived with his single mother until she died of overwork when he was a teenager.
- Struggling Single Mother: Adam's mother was treated like a slave on the farm and was subject to anti-Faunus racism, but she still thought it better than going off into the unknown with Adam. At least the farm gave the basic necessities and had few Grimm around it.
- Unnamed Parent: Adam's mother isn't named.
- Would Hurt a Child: As a child, Adam was blinded when he was whipped on his face.
