WMG / The Greatest Freakout Ever

Go To

The first video was a real freakout, but most of the subsequent videos were staged
The series started with something that actually seems like pretty typical behavior for kids their age, only (unfortunately for Stephen) all caught on camera. Stephen being a complete Drama Queen about losing his World of Warcraft account in (he thought) the privacy of his room, while his brother Jack trolls him by hiding a camera in his room and records it, are all things that are actually pretty common for kids their age to do. But after the video went viral, the whole family including Stephen decided to embrace their characters and make it a series to build on the internet fame that they started. There might be some exceptions. For example, Jack may have filmed a real second freakout before the family decided to start scripting videos, Stephen's upset reaction to the first video may have been genuine since hiding up in a tree and yelling at Jack to go away is probably the reaction that most kids his age would have had to finding out that they went viral in a negative way, and a few of the later ones where Jack seems to go out of his way to provoke Stephen (such as the one where he locks him outside of the house in the snow) may have been Jack trying to get content when the rest of the family didn't feel like making videos. However, the rest of the series is scripted because Stephen really enjoys playing the villain and has decided to embrace his original freakout as a way of owning it and getting himself past the embarrassment.
