  • Creator Backlash: Stephen Quire has consistently maintained his dislike for the freakout videos, and has called out Jack for filming him. However, as of 2021, he has still made regular appearances during livestreams and responds to comments left by his fans.
  • Follow the Leader: In the series' wake, several other series have popped up:
    • The Angry Grandpa was the first copycat, and among the best known although Angry Grandpa having begun in 2007 predates the GFOE series which begun in 2009.
    • McJuggerNuggets (Jesse Ridgway) created The Psycho Series in 2012, which started out as a copycat, before becoming a Deconstruction of the "dysfunctional family" genre, showing the main characters' life falling apart at the hands of his increasingly abusive, power-hungry, and traditionalist father, and runs the gamut of destruction, from video game consoles to mobile homes and entire structures, ending with the main character shooting his father dead and fleeing to Switzerland. The Psycho Series ended with the confirmation that the entire series was staged. Stephen would later react to several Psycho videos when the Wafflepwn channel began livestreaming in August 2021, seemingly unaware that the videos were staged, and referred to him and Jesse as "brothers in arms", with Jesse arranging to meet them. However, the meeting ends in Stephen finding out that the Psycho videos are fake and feeling betrayed and mocked, and Jesse feeling guilty for mocking a man's real temper issues.
    • Violette1st is another copycat created in the wake of the runaway success of The Psycho Series. The main character tends to use fire in his freakouts, burning everything from his homework and a malfunctioning smart phone to a laptop, his father's work tools, and even a car. He has also used a BB gun to shoot his homework, a TV, and even his own father (in the ass). At the same time, though, he is often depicted in a sympathetic light due to his father being a verbally-abusive Fat Bastard who rarely uses his real name and frequently calls him a "freakin' jerk" and "freakin' dingbat". Then we have the main character's mother, who is mostly known for her Motor Mouth moments. Most viewers agree that the series is fake.
    • Angry Grandma is another channel that has cropped up which is similar to The Angry Grandpa channel listed above. Going by their YouTube channel creation date they started in 2010 which was way after The Angry Grandpa.
    • Many other users have tried to imitate the Greatest Freakout Ever series, to varying degrees of success.
  • Meme Acknowledgment: A screenshot of the famous scene of Stephen putting the remote up his butt is the profile picture of the Wafflepwn channel.
