Waluigi killed Bowser at the Minion Rehabilitation Clinic and gave the knife to Mario to frame him.
- Mario decided to roll with it because he thought he wouldn't get in trouble for it anyways since everyone thought he was dead.
Alternatively, Mario killed Bowser at the Minion Rehabilitation Clinic disguised as Waluigi.
Toadsworth used the Fold of Life on Mario in the Paper Mario episode of "Luigi Time!!!".
- He was the first to discover the technique (he later passed it on to the Origami Craftsman) and thought it was the only way to bring Mario back to his normal three-dimensional self. As to why Mario looks so seamless after the procedure...well, Toadsworth is just that good at origami.
