Maestro is a hidden object game series developed by ERS Game Studios and published by Big Fish Games from 2011 to 2014.

You play as a detective who investigates mysterious phenomena triggered by the presence of music. Their mission is to uncover the source of the deadly music and stop the perpetrator responsible before more people are affected by the disasters.

The games released in order are:

  • Music of Death - a mysterious illness causes people to rapidly age and die as ominous music is heard in the air. You must navigate the quarantined village and find out the cause.

  • Notes of Life - a girl went missing after being lured away by sinister music, and you have to find her and rescue her before it's too late.

  • Music from the Void - Shadows terrorize the people of Vienna as eerie music fills the air, and two music prodigies have gone missing. You have to navigate the streets to find them.

  • Dark Talent - a fun night with a friend at the Opera House becomes a nightmare when a mysterious diva's dark talent claims a victim. You have to save your friend and stop the diva before more victims turn up.

Not to be confused with Leonard Bernstein biopic movie, or the Marvel one.

Maestro performs with the following examples:

Shared Tropes

  • Arc Villain: Eva Krueger, for the first two games. Francois becomes the new antagonist starting in the bonus chapter of the second game.

Music of Death

  • Children Forced to Kill: Eva forced Emily to play the Music of Death, causing the epidemic that led to the people who hear the music to rapidly age and die.
  • Rapid Aging: The reason the detective is called in to investigate is because of a string of deaths where the victims age rapidly and die. Even Emily is affected by the Music of Death as she has been forced to play by Eva Krueger no matter how badly she wanted to stop.

Notes of Life

  • Bastard Understudy: In the bonus chapter, the detective discovers that Francois betrayed Eva, dooming her to be consumed by the very shadows she once commanded.
  • Enfante Terrible: Francois

Music from the Void

  • Mortality Ensues: In the bonus chapter, the Musician loses his immortality, requiring the detective's help to regain it in order to stop the shadows from taking advantage of the situation.

Dark Talent

  • Sibling Murder: Diva's brother, upon hearing her refuse to seek revenge on the people who banished her, set her cabin on fire where she died before calling upon the shadows to bring her back and put her under his control.
