You're new in town and have arrived just in time to help with the local Harvest Festival. Make sure to lend your neighbors a hand, so that you can all have a good time.

Harvest Festival 64 is a short Retraux horror game, created by Warkus. It's available for Windows and Linux and can be downloaded for free on its itch.io page.

Contains examples of the following tropes:

  • But Thou Must!: Due to a storm having blown through town recently, the bridge is out of commission on Monday and Tuesday, forcing you to help the villagers on the side you're on first. Even after the bridge gets repaired, one of the villagers on the other side will be too tired to accept help from you on Wednesday, meaning you don't really have a choice in who to help next.
  • Deadly Euphemism: When you arrive in town, the villagers inform you that you're lucky, because one of them just "moved out", leaving his house empty. Once you can access the beach on the third day, you can find a body floating in the sea.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: When the player character becomes infected at the end of the game, they start staring right at the screen and don't stop, even as the game glitches out.
  • Mood Whiplash: What starts out as a simple life-simulator takes on a much more sinister tone once the titular Harvest Festival begins.
  • Nightmare Face: All of the villagers gain one on the day of the Harvest festival, with their eyes becoming pitch-black voids with white pinpricks for pupils and their mouths twisting into disturbing grins. The player character gets one too as the game glitches out, which, combined with their white fur, makes them look like a skeleton.
  • Retraux: The game's graphics are deliberately low-poly, to emulate the style of old Nintendo 64 games.
  • 13 Is Unlucky: The Harvest Festival takes place on Friday the 13th. Predictably, once it starts things go horribly wrong.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Implied. Each of the villagers dies using or utilizing the items the player character gathered for them. The pie lady has her decapitated head stuffed onto a pumpkin pie, the villager asking for wood to build the pyre is seen burning within it, the villager the player gathered shiny stones for has them sewn into his stomach and goes to drown himself and the villager who asked for mushrooms ate them all in one go, overdosing on amanita muscaria and killing himself.
