This version of Raphael is portrayed as a much more troubled then than the versions before him (and indeed, after him). His temper is treated as a serious problem that he thinks he has to deal with alone. When Splinter lectures him about it, assuring him that he and his brothers will always be there when he needs them, he is seen quietly weeping.
