Just a little reference for the tropes that pop up in Kings and Pawns. Cause it's fun! Feel free to edit this but please use spoilers if you think it's necessary.
- Aerith and Bob: Poseidon, Hephaestus, Jetpack, Spectra, Moony, Freya, Gold, Silver, Dizzy, and... Oliver?
- Anyone Can Die: It's a Nuzlocke, so nobody is safe.
- The Chessmaster: The Big Bad.
- The Cynic: Moony.
- Disappeared Dad: It IS a Pokemon comic.
- Eyes Always Shut: Hephaestus, during his Cyndaquil stage.
- The Face Less: The Big Bad.
- Ghost Amnesia: Spectra doesn't remember everything from her prior life.
- I Never Told You My Name: This seems to happen to Gold more than he is comfortable with.
- Kaleidoscope Eyes: Gold, although only twice so far. His eyes are generally a similar colour to his hair.
- Kill It with Fire: Heph does this to one of Falkner's Pokemon. And a whole lotta Bellsprout.
- Mood Whiplash: The transition to the battle with Falkner. Tends to oscillate between jokes and dark stuff in general.
- Running on All Fours: Oliver and Hephaestus, who both prefer to stand on two legs (or a tail, in Oliver's case) but almost always walk or run on four.
- Speaks Fluent Animal: Many people can communicate with Pokemon, but not everyone.
- The Speechless: Jetpack. Almost qualifies as a Cute Mute, but the reason for her lack of speech is too dark.
- Spit Take: Elm in page 2.
- Unlikely Hero: Gold. All he wanted to do was research some Hoothoot...
- Webcomic of the Game: Being a Nuzlocke comic, it naturally follows the basic progression of the original Pokemon games.
