Trivia / What is a Person Worth?

  • Outdated by Canon: Ronnie Anne and Bobby's father is present in the story, even though in the series itself it has become clear by now that he's no longer around, and for a long time it was unknown what had become of him. The final chapter 'corrects' this by having him die in a car crash and having the Santiagos move in with the Casagrandes. This, too, became outdated months after the story's completion when a press release for the spinoff revealed that Mr. Santiago is indeed alive, and is merely working abroad as a doctor in Peru. In the authors note for the first chapter of the sequel, "Take It In Stride", the author admits that Mr. Santiago being dead in his story contradicts canon events, but he will stick to it since he already made the decision to kill him off before the show revealed the character to be still alive. Also his name is Marcus in the story, while it’s Arturo in the show.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Originally, it was Lynn who Lincoln met up with in the library but the author quickly realized that such a scenario would have caused another fist fight that would have ended with Lincoln getting suspended and Lynn being severely injured, leading to Lucy being the one to find out what Lincoln's been up to and what he wants. That and the author thought that having Lynn be the one to meet with Lincoln was too obvious.
    • On a happier note, he was originally intending on Lincoln playing a prank on Luan in Chapter 16 in retribution for all of her pranking antics but he came to the conclusion that if that happened along with Luan being confronted with the fact that she could have permanently injured or even killed her siblings with her pranks, it just would have been cruel overkill. So instead Lincoln just calls her out, deconstructing her pranks as he does, and comforts her when she starts calling herself a monster.
