Trivia / Walking with Cavemen

  • Accidentally Correct Zoology: The scene where an eagle hunts a baby Australopithecus is likely based on reports of African eagles hunting monkeys. Three years after the show came out, it was published that the Taung Child (the first identified Australopithecus and probably the most famous after Lucy, plus an infant at the time of its death) had been killed and eaten by an eagle. Given the close timing of events, you'd be forgiven for assuming that the former was a direct homage to the Taung Child.
  • B-Team Sequel: This is the only installment in the franchise to not have the franchise creator Tim Haines involved in any capacity, nor is scored by Ben Bartlett.
  • Prop Recycling: Not only is the Megaloceros model the same one used in Walking with Beasts, the scene of its death actually uses the same POV and animation of its death in the other show.
  • What Could Have Been: An alternative version presented by Nigel Marven (who had hosted Chased by Dinosaurs and Sea Monsters) was recorded for America, but was ultimately shelved in favor of a version hosted by Alec Baldwin. An Orphaned Reference to this appears in the American editions of the Walking with Cavemen book.
