• Banned in China: Banned (supposedly to this day) in Cincinnatti due to the influence of anti-pornography activist (and defrauder) Charles Keating.
• Breakthrough Hit: Vixen! made $8 million on a budget of $73,000. It was what convinced 20th Century Fox to hire Russ Meyer, heretofore an independent director, to make Beyond the Valley of the Dolls in order to appeal to young audiences.
• California Doubling: The setting is Canada's bush country, which is kind of important due to the American Niles' Draft Dodging, but it was actually filmed in Miranda, California.
• No Budget: The film was made on a budget of just $73,000.
