• Ascended Fanon: In Chapter 4 of Oriental Sacred Place, Cirno, Rumia, Wriggle and Mystia are seen cooperating when scaring Youmu during their "Test of Courage", in chapter 12 they are all also seen preparing for the New Year's Eve celebration at the shrine, and in Chapter 1 of Visionary Fairies in Shrine the Three Fairies of Light ask for information regarding a new fairy causing trouble (Clownpiece) from Cirno and Daiyousei, Rumia, Wriggle, Mystia, and Alice. In other words, Team Nine(ball).
• Bonus Material: Each volume of the manga has an attached music CD, featuring themes for the characters and stories.
• Unexpected Character: Clownpiece's arrival in Visionary Fairies in Shrine was about the last thing fans expected.
• Word of Saint Paul: Makoto Hirasaka drew Touhou Doujinshi before being hired for Sangetsusei and continued to do so during the hiatus, including such things as backstories for the Three Fairies of Light which may or may not reflect ZUN's intent.
