  • Adored by the Network: The Abbey Theatre really liked this play. There used to be a production around every other year, although in recent years it's become less frequent.
  • Executive Meddling: RKO insisted that Ford tone down the play's politics and put more focus on Nora and Jack which in Ford's words "ruined the damned thing!".
  • Old Shame: John Ford regard his attempt of adapting the play to the film to be a failure in part because of RKO's Executive Meddling, which led Ford to storm off the set and leave assistants to finish the film.
  • Role Reprise: Barry Fitzgerald played Fluther in the original production at the Abbey Theatre and in the 1936 film.
