• Genre-Killer: To Power Pop, at least as a mainstream force.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: "My Sharona" has a long 7-minute version... that was only released as a 12" inch single in 1979 in Colombia on clear transparent, pink/red transparent, blue transparent, or standard black vinyl. It's never seen a reissue and goes for highly expensive prices on auction sites^note It's an artificial extended version made by cobbling various elements of the 5-minute original together, which may be why it hasn't been re-released.
• One-Hit Wonder: One of the most well-known examples in modern music history, as "My Sharona" was a monster hit... with pretty much every other track they did being virtually ignored. That said, the band could arguably be seen as a Two-Hit Wonder due to their second single, "Good Girls Don't", reaching #11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
• Similarly Named Works: There had been a few earlier bands called The Knack.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In a bizarre coincidence, one of these other Knacks (which was active during The '60s) was also from Los Angeles and signed to Capitol Records!
