Trivia / The Knack

Go To

  • Genre-Killer: To Power Pop, at least as a mainstream force.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: "My Sharona" has a long 7-minute version... that was only released as a 12" inch single in 1979 in Colombia on clear transparent, pink/red transparent, blue transparent, or standard black vinyl. It's never seen a reissue and goes for highly expensive prices on auction sitesnote .
  • One-Hit Wonder: One of the most well-known examples in modern music history, as "My Sharona" was a monster hit... with pretty much every other track they did being virtually ignored. That said, the band could arguably be seen as a Two-Hit Wonder due to their second single, "Good Girls Don't", reaching #11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
  • Similarly Named Works: There had been a few earlier bands called The Knack.
