  • Kristin Booth, who plays American Ethel Kennedy, is Canadian.
• Real-Life Relative: Tom Wilkinson and Diana Hardcastle are married in real life.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The miniseries was initially produced for the The History Channel but the channel got cold feet and decided to not go forward with airing the miniseries in early 2011 due to the historical inaccuracies. The show did however air on the channel's British and Canadian versions.
  • After History dropped the series before premiere, Showtime, The 101 Network, FX and Starz were offered to air it before Reelz Channel took over but they turned it down for the same reasons as History.
