• Creator-Driven Successor: to The Hamilton Mixtape. Miranda stated that because he considered the mixtape such a perfect work as is, that Vol. 2 just wouldn't be as good, and decided to release them separately as Hamildrops instead.
• In Memoriam:
  • The "Wrote My Way Out" music video is dedicated to "Abuela Edmunda Claudio".
  • The "Boom Goes the Cannon..." music video is dedicated to Prodigy, one half of Mobb Deep's duo, who died a year before the song released.
• Schedule Slip: "The Hamilton Polka" and the music video for "Boom Goes the Cannon..." both wound up releasing in the months following their intended releases.
