- Troubled Production: Various versions of The Crowded Room have floated around Hollywood since the 1990s. James Cameron wrote a script that was picked up by Leonardo DiCaprio's production company, with DiCaprio originally slated to star as Billy/Danny. Joel Schumacher was attached for a time, but lost the rights, and just when it seemed it was about to appear as a feature film, the COVID-19 Pandemic waylaid production, after which it reemerged as a mini-series.
