- Accidentally-Correct Writing: During a reception in Ransolm's office, one of the Centrist senators comments on the unlikelihood of the first Death Star's weakness and speculates that it was actually a deliberate betrayal on the part of someone within the Empire. Seven months later in real life, we find out that they're right on the money. (Unless this was Foreshadowing.)
- Hypothetical Casting: Claudia Gray has fancast several actors for characters in Bloodline on her personal Pinterest page.
- Jamie Chung as Lady Carise
- Tom Hiddleston as Ransolm Casterfo
- Sônia Braga as Arliz Hadrassian
- Priyanka Chopra as Greer Sonnel
- Josh Hutcherson as Joph Seastriker
- Ken Watanabe as Tai-Lin Garr
- Reality Subtext: The Centrists are fictional representations of the many fans who downplay or outright support the Empire's actions. The book features many instances of Leia picking apart pro-Imperial arguments that sound like they could have come from a fan forum.
- What Could Have Been: According to Pablo Hidalgo, the Internal Reveal to the public that Leia is Darth Vader's daughter was originally going to be an animated short that would have been released before The Force Awakens. Instead, it was adapted into the book, along with a number of other story elements.
