  • Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: One internet news report on Jovenshire's interview with Emma Watson mistakenly refers to him as a news reporter named Joven Shire.
  • Creator Backlash: In their "OGSoG" podcast, as they were doing a tier list of all the shows in Smosh Games' history, the original four members revealed that there were some shows that they were not particularly proud of.
    • They particularly dislike "Smosh Games Reviews" as they felt like it was out of place with the rest of their content as they shifted their focus from gaming-related content to personality-based content, though Sohinki played devil's advocate by arguing that the show still managed to attract more views than reviews made by other gaming journalists such as IGN.
    • They ranked "Gametime with Smosh Games" a D-tier because they consider it to be a Poor Man's Substitute to its predecessor "Gametime with Smosh".
    • Jovenshire and Lasercorn also heavily disliked "Let's Play Saturday" as it attracted low views and felt out of place with the brand.
  • Creative Differences: Mariko Takahashi (AtomicMari) announced in June of 2020 that she had left Smosh Games with little fanfare sometime prior. She later clarified on her channel that in February of 2020, she had been issued an ultimatum upon word of the creation of NewElement6: she could either remain at Smosh, or continue working on creating NewElement6, so she chose to quit.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor:
    • In January of 2018, Amra Ricketts (Flitz) became accused of sexual assault by numerous women on social media, causing him to leave the group out of fear he would have a negative impact on the channel. While Smosh has still yet to release an official statement regarding their stance on the situation, he, alongside former members Mariko Takahashi (AtomicMari), David Moss (Lasercorn), Matthew Sohinki, Wesley Johnson (WesTheEditor), and Joshua Ovenshire (TheJovenshire) have all reunited as the group NewElement6 in 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 virus.
    • The aforementioned NewElement6 would be rendered inactive several months later following sexual assault allegations against Wesley Johnson (WesTheEditor) by Sonja Reid (OMGitsfirefoxx). Courtney Miller of the Smosh Gang, as well as Wes' former roommate, spoke out in support of Sonja, while Mariko Takahashi (Mari), David Moss (Lasercorn), and Joshua Ovenshire (Jovenshire) individually announced they were stepping away from NE6 in light of these allegations. Said individuals, along with Matthew Sohinki, would later reform under the title "OGSoG", a not-so-subtle reference to their time with Smosh Games.
  • Romance on the Set: Damien Haas and Saige Ryan met after Saige was hired for Smosh Games, and announced their relationship in October 2021
