Trivia / Satellite City

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Several of the voice actors play multiple roles, including Duane Joseph Olson (Shuck, Ludwig, Fontaine, and Yeshua), Angela Alice Simpson (Fleischer, Hayden, Hux) and Rikki Leigh Tiffurelli (Lucy and Wexle as of Season 2, Locket, and Shale.)
    • Fleischer's voice actor also plays the poor doomed bastard who gets eaten on the streets of London in episode 12.
  • The Cast Showoff:
    • Wexle's VA sings a brief snippet of "Let it Snow" in Episode 5.
    • Fennah gets to show off his talents at playing the ukulele in the second Christmas episode, "Once Upon A Winifred".
    • Pretty much every member of the cast gets to belt out a few bars (in character!) in the video Fennah animated for his collaborative review of The Wall.
  • Colbert Bump: A (non-canon) collaboration with The Nostalgia Critic in his review of The Wall gave Satellite City some much appreciated exposure.
  • Cowboy Be Bop At His Computer: In Fennah's contributions to the The Nostalgia Critic review of The Wall (as watch here) he essentially argues that the "monsters" in the animated segments are not established characters, just random "nonsense" that you can't establish an emotional connection with. Problem is, they are plot relevant characters (the teacher, wife and mother); even the ones exclusive to the short, the lawyer and the judge, get the "just five minutes your honour" Sombra demands establishing their characters.
  • Descended Creator: Sam Fennah, the creator of the series, also plays Sulllivan.
  • Fake American: As mentioned below, the English Duane Joseph Olson (who voices three other regular characters) plays the Vegas-based Yeshua with a totally convincing American accent.
  • Real-Life Relative: Sam's father Rob has been in a band (Alternative Radio) with his brother Alan since the 80s, and Sam has used many of Rob's compositions in episodes of Satellite City. The show even gets its title from a song of theirs by the same name.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Winifred was originally designed to have wings.
    • Old concept art of Lucy shows that she was originally going to be more cat-like in appearance and even have a red nose.
  • Word of Gay: Sam Fennah has confirmed that Lucy Lacemaker is a lesbian.
