Trivia / Safety Not Guaranteed

Go To

  • Absurdly Short Production Time: Not only was the film shot in just four weeks, but Mark Duplass filmed all of his scenes in the first two weeks to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Star-Making Role: Colin Trevorrow went from a no-name indie director to the guy behind Jurassic World and a Disney's man-for-hire to doll up their productions thanks to the success of this movie.
  • What Could Have Been: The movie's original ending was for the time machine to not work, ending it ambiguous whether or not Kenneth was sincere the entire time. But director Colin Trevorrow wasn't satisfied with it, and pushed to shoot the new (final) ending just two weeks before it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. This ended up changing Trevorrow's life, as Steven Spielberg admits that the revised ending was what convinced him to have Trevorrow direct Jurassic World.
