• Executive Meddling: As stated by GAN in their blog's afterword (note: page is in Japanese), Suzune Magica was originally slated to be two volumes only, and didn't have Kagari or her plot added in. However, GAN was asked to expand the plot, thus leading to the addition of Kagari and a third volume. This is most likely why the third volume is so poorly paced compared to the other volumes (having to slow down a lot to give information, leading to one whole conflict being drawn out through the whole volume, and then the rather rushed nature of the ending), and probably also the reason for Arisa getting suddenly killed off and then written out.
• Mythology Gag: Once again, Kyubey is called a fairy.
• Word of God: According to tweets made by GAN:
  • Suzune is 18-years old, and her wish was "I want to become a magical girl like Tsubaki". Why she is in a first-year class in a middle school isn't explained, though.
    • Popular WMG is that, as a magical girl assassin in a narrative setting where the average age of one is around 14, she was keeping close to the denomination most likely to have available targets. That, or she lost a few years after losing Tsubaki and living alone with Kagari's mental influence.
  • Arisa was supposed to be the main character of the story, before GAN decided to use Suzune's POV instead.
  • Chisato's powers are to release or cancel out other magical abilities, fitting in with the wish she made.
  • Kagari was designed in the middle of the story, fitting in with the expansion mentioned above under Executive Meddling.
  • Tsubaki was 20+ years old, and her wish was "I want the power to defeat witches".
  • Kanami is easily trusting of other people, but also rather gullible; she also is kind to the elderly. Her hobby is saving money, and her favourite food is sweet potato. She also did not have a set colour scheme, until a person on pixiv created fanart of her with an original red-and-white colour scheme, which GAN then made official.
• What Could Have Been: Given the fact that Kagari and her arc did not exist when the story was first started, this means that the ending of Suzune Magica was going to be very different, or reach the same ending in a much different way. How it was changed, if any changes were made to begin with, has not been explained, though.
