However, GAN was asked to expand the plot, thus leading to the addition of Kagari and a third volume. This is most likely why the third volume is so poorly paced compared to the other volumes (having to slow down a lot to give information, leading to one whole conflict being drawn out through the whole volume, and then the rather rushed nature of the ending), and probably also the reason for [[spoiler:Arisa getting suddenly killed off and then written out]].

* TroubledProduction: Poor reception is what led to ''Suzune'''s odd release life. When volume 1 didn't sell well on its own, ''Suzune'' was moved to serialization in ''Kirara Forward'' to attempt to eke out more interest and revenue. Volume 2 still didn't turn a good profit, and volume 3 was rushed out and the story concluded very hastily, and had the worst response of all three volumes. Compare this to with the two other spin-off manga ''Suzune'' had started production alongside, ''Tart Magica'' and ''Oriko Magica: Sadness Prayer'', both of which received very good response and continued running in their serialization and volume release formats.
