Trivia / Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Within WOTR, Marc Thompson voices both Regill Derenge and Staunton Vhane.
  • Ascended Fanon: Wrath of the Righteous ships with several class and archetype options that were included in "Call of the Wild", a popular Game Mod for Kingmaker. The turn-based combat mode was also a commonly used mod for Kingmaker before being added to the game's Definitive Edition; Wrath ships with it.
  • God Never Said That: After Owlcat Games announced Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, some people began spreading claims that Owlcat had officially announced they were done supporting WOTR and were done making Pathfinder games. It got the point where Owlcat had to officially state neither were true, and they would be making another game using Pathfinder.
  • Newbie Boom: Being such a massive success for the property, the game worked as an excellent gateway towards getting a lot of new people interested in Pathfinder as a whole.
  • Schedule Slip: Delivery of some physical rewards related to the game got caught in the net of sanctions that went up in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022: specifically, the rewards were due to be delivered by UPS, but the company ceased service to Russia until further notice. Owlcat ultimately sidestepped the sanctions by moving house to Cyprus.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Like its predecessor, a poll was held to see which of the three races will be playable in the final game: the Catfolk, the Ysoki, or the Kitsune. The Kitsune won the poll and were added to the game, along with a companion of that race.
    • For a long time in the beta, camping worked just like it did in Kingmaker, including requiring the ever-hated camping supplies item, with one unit needed per rest, per character. This actually persisted for a very long time throughout testing, all the way up to the final beta phase, and everyone thought that the system would go live. To the delight of many, however, Owlcat finally acknowledged all the feedback over the years and relented, removing the item from the game entirely and making it so that camping had no material requirement for the basic, 8-hour rest component in the release version of the game. This was implemented so late in development, in fact, that the camping supplies item was still seeded into the army quartermaster's sales table in chapter 2 when the game first launched on PC.
    • Though not extensively documented in patches, the beta version of the game leaned more into darker events happening with the story and characters, such as the more evil aligned party members being more cruel and sadistic in their actions. By the final product, several of the darker and extreme scenes were removed.
