Trivia / Nebula

Go To

  • Accidentally-Correct Writing: While Ceres' emergence from Black Hole's head wasn't intended to be anything close to realistic or plausible, some months after the comic's publication NASA actually observed an object coming out of a black hole.
  • Approval of God:
    • This very TV Tropes page has in fact been endorsed by Ghostfruits.note
    • The Scanlation of the comic from English into Korean (which can be read here) was received with enthusiasm by the Ghostfruits team, who were mostly flattered that someone was invested enough in the comic to do it.
  • Bonus Material: There are several canonical short stories from the POVs of different characters. "Nix" is about Pluto and his feelings before Ceres' attack on the planets, "Proco" is about Earth and how she found the comet that ran away from Jupiter, and "Lux" is about Sun and how he's struggling to deal with everything going on.
  • Creator's Favorite Episode: #5, the one with Jupiter's comet, is apparently the favorite of at least one member of the Ghostfruits team.
  • Line to God: The Ghostfruits' tumblr- they're very responsive to fans, no matter how inane the question... even if their answer is just to say that they can't say anything along with a picture of a rhino.
  • Loads and Loads of Writers: An unusual webcomic example, though only one of the current members (James) is the formal writer of the comic- the other members involved work on the art.
  • Meaningful Release Date: #14 was released on the blog (it had been available earlier as part of the Nebula Ultra compilation) for the New Horizons flyby of Pluto- July 14th, 2015.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Toc made several pieces of fanart for Nebula before becoming one of its official artists.
  • Science Marches On: Pluto was introduced in 2013, years before any photos of Pluto showing its coloration or surface features existed. Thus, Pluto in the comic is vaguely gaseous and teal-blue instead of reddish-brown and with a head of jagged ice.
  • Unfinished Episode: The Mercury comic, which never ended up formally published due to a Troubled Production and is not official canon. It was quietly released on a side-blog, and remains an interesting look at the comic in varying stages of development (ranging from "completely done but not colored in yet" to "a bunch of red scribbles").
  • What Could Have Been: Various pieces of concept art can be found in the depths of the archives; among other things, Jupiter could've had a significantly different color scheme (dark gray and yellow instead of red-brown and orange), Mars could've had shorts instead of a loincloth and originally had no cape, and Sun was designed with visible sunspots and a Hawaiian shirt.
