Trivia / Napalm Death

Go To

  • Creative Differences: The reason why Justin Broadrick left. In his words, he had "had enough of Napalm Death very, very quickly". Nicholas "Nik Napalm" Bullen did this too before shifting his focus to studying psychology and English literature at a university.
  • He Also Did: Barney was briefly the vocalist for Benediction, performing on their first album which released just months after Harmony Corruption. He also recorded one album with Extreme Noise Terror during his brief stint with them.
  • Genre Popularizer: Whether they were the first grindcore band or not, they caused genre to take off, coined the term, and are the most successful band in the genre.
  • Referenced by...: Sol Badguy's One-Hit Kill is named after this band.
  • Similarly Named Works: Their well-known song "Suffer the Children" should not be confused with an identically named single by Tears for Fears. Both songs' titles are slight paraphrases of Matthew 19:14: "But Jesus said, 'Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'" (KJV; suffer, in this context, is used in its archaic sense of permit; a more infamous usage in this sense is Exodus 22:18's "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live," though the accuracy of this translation is disputed.)
