• Channel Hop: It originally premiered on ABC as a part of the channel's "A Wonderful World of Disney" revival. Following its premiere, the film would air on Disney Channel in the early 2000s. This has led to the misconception that it is a Disney Channel Original Movie.
• Creator Backlash: Actress Elisabeth Harnois was disappointed when she found out that production wasn't actually going to take place in Washington D.C., as she had loved the city ever since she visited it on a class trip a year prior.
• Dawson Casting: Duncan and Hallie are both high school teens, while their actors were 21 and 18 years old at the time.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: While it has been released on VHS and DVD in the past, the film has yet to be added to Disney+.
• Production Posse: Will Friedle and Elisabeth Harnois have both starred in Boy Meets World. Friedle was a main character throughout the show's run while Harnois was a guest star in Season 3. Their characters did not interact though.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Danielle Fishel auditioned for the role of Hallie.
  • Elisabeth Harnois was very reluctant about having to wear the pink mini-dress, as she thought it made her look too sexy, and worried that she would unintentionally expose her body due to how form fitting it was on her body. Fortunately, the costume designer was able to convince her that it was the right choice for the character.
