- Amateur Cast: The cast has a mix of trained actors - such as Sydney Hendrickson, Tracie Mauk, Hughston Walkinshaw and Kerron Stark - and untrained actors, such as about half of the kid cast.
- Directed by Cast Member: Kerron Stark directed the shorts and majority of the full-length episodes.
- Fake American: Jenn Pollard, who voices Baxter (and is the head writer), is actually Canadian.
- The Other Darrin: Baxter was originally played by Johnny Kurtzuba in Season 1. For Season 2, he has a different puppeteer and is voiced by head writer Jenn Pollard.
- Promoted Fangirl: Emilia Leonetti was actually a fan of the show before she started writing for it.
- Queer Character, Queer Actor: Easel, a human character who is an artist, is non-binary. Easel’s actor, Zazz Juniper, is also non-binary.
- Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: Three writers - Katy Kepler, Colleen O’Shaugnessy and Emilia Leonetti - were brought on as a writers late into pre-production of Season 2 due to the departures of two of the writers. They had a matter of weeks to pitch, write and rewrite their scripts.
- Written by Cast Member: Kerron Stark co-wrote all the episodes of Season 1 and wrote most of the shorts himself.
