• Dueling Works: When entering The '90s, Le Bébête Show faced fellow political satire puppet show Les Guignols de l'Info from TF1's rival private channel Canal+, which started in 1988 (as Les Arènes de l'Info). While the quality and ratings of Les Guignols increased, those of the Bébête Show steadily declined. The revamp of Le Bébête Show with human puppets didn't move the needle and the show died with the end of François Mitterrand's presidency (and, some would say, with Mitterrand himself).
