  • Awesome, Dear Boy: Christina Aguilera jumped at the chance to do a song for Moulin Rouge!, because she had been a big fan of Baz Lurhmann's previous film.
  • Breakaway Pop Hit: While Moulin Rouge was a hit, the song has had more lasting power, and endured in popularity so much that it's sometimes forgotten it was covered specifically for the movie.
  • The Cast Show Off: Christina Aguilera had previously been more known for her Teen Idol songs and radio friendly pop. This provided her with a chance to really show off that she could belt.
  • Creator Backlash: Lil' Kim wasn't a trained dancer and missed the memo saying they would be doing choreography, so she showed up to rehearsals at the last minute, and struggled through it. Although it turned out well, choreographer Tina Landon said "it wasn't really her thing".
  • Harpo Does Something Funny: The singers each got to freestyle for their solos.
  • Hostility on the Set: P!nk and Christina Aguilera got into an argument, where the former supposedly thought that the latter's part should have been hers, though they did patch things up for the sake of the song.
  • Wag the Director: P!nk was reluctant to perform choreography with a chair, because Britney Spears had just done so for "Stronger", so they had to minimise the use of it.
