- Children Voicing Children: Tōru Furuya was only 15 when he was first cast as Hyuma, and remarkably, Furuya's voice more or less sounds the same now as it did back then.
- Life Imitates Art: In 1978, the Yomiuri Giants would draft high school pitching phenom Suguru Egawa (albeit after some admittedly dodgy tactics behind the scenes). Like Hyuma, it had been Egawa's lifelong aspiration to join the Giants. Egawa was also a very individualistic sort of player, famously going against Giants management's pitching orders when rival hitter Randy Bass seemed on the verge of breaking Giants legend Sadaharu Oh's home run record. Sadly like his fictional counterpart, Egawa would end up retiring early in his career due to arm issues.
- Star-Making Role: Hyuma Hoshi was this for Tōru Furuya, Hyuma was the biggest role of his career prior to Mobile Suit Gundam and Saint Seiya further cementing him as the superstar voice actor he is today.
- Ittetsu Hoshi would be the most iconic role of the late Seizō Katō's career with Megatron being a close second in this regard.
