• Acting for Two: A variant. Toshimichi Takahashi voices Armored Captain Gatezone, but also physically portrays General Jark (who is voiced by Seizō Katō).
• Irony as She Is Cast: Would you believe Kenji Ohba as a Fantasy-Forbidding Father in #33?
• Role Reprise: Masaki Terasoma reprises his role as the voice of Shadow Moon.
• What Could Have Been:
  • The series was initially planned out as a standalone Kamen Rider show with little to no connection to its predecessor. But due to the popularity of Kamen Rider Black, the execs at Toei decided to retool the show as a direct sequel at the last minute. This explains why most of the RX suit is green.
  • Reportedly, there were plans for a follow-up to be made, but they were scrapped; Ryohei Kobayashi auditioned for a role, but because said series was canned, he was given the part of Fumiya in Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman to make up for it.
  • The kaijin Death Garon was planned initially as an RX version of Shadow Moon, hence the design similarities.
• Working Title: Before being retooled as a sequel to Black, the proposed title of this series was called Kamen Rider R2.
• You Look Familiar:
  • Makoto Akatsuka, who played Shunkichi Sahara (the dad), previously guest-starred in Episode 28 of the previous season as the nameless father of the kid of the week.
  • Yoko Honna as a child actress appears as Chigusa in episode 9, having previously appeared in episode 32 of the previous season as a completely different one-off child character, Yuki.
