- Adored by the Network: MTV immediately went overboard on promoting and showing reruns of the show after the series became a hit over-night. The original version is still shown in reruns as of 2020.
- Cash-Cow Franchise: Became this for MTV, as it spawned 3 spin-offs, multiple international offshoots (most notably "Geordie Shore"), and was brought back by MTV in 2018 as "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation".
- Fake Nationality: J-Woww and Snooki are both not Italian at all. They're Irish/Spanish and Chilean, respectively (Snooki, while not biologically Italian, was raised by adoptive Italian parents so she still grew up in the culture). Although, Snooki claims to be part Italian through one of her Chilean parents as well.
- The Red Stapler: Inverted. A persistent urban legend (one that Snooki has denied)
claims that Louis Vuitton sent Gucci handbags to Snooki specifically to associate their rival with the show and make them look bad. Another one claims that Abercrombie & Fitch paid The Situation to wear anything other than their clothes for fear of being associated with him.
