• Creator Backlash:
  • Kurt and Paul loathe the 2004 Remix Album Pure Energy. Both expressed their views via scathing reviews on Amazon, of all places.
  Paul: Anyone who has any affection for Information Society will avoid this abomination at all costs. ... it's an insult to both the band and the fans.
  Kurt: All I did was record vocals for an earlier (also not-so-good) "remix" album called Recombinant. ... Then after Recombinant, this came out. No one told me it was being made; I never knew about it until it was for sale.
  • Kurt says this about the video for "How Long":
  There WAS a video made for this song, with Adam Ant directing, but I really hope you never see it.
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Information Society was very popular in Brazil and retains a devoted fanbase there.
• One-Hit Wonder: averted. "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)" and "Walking Away" hit the Billboard Hot 100's top 10; "Think" hit 28, and "Running" hit 2 on the Dance chart.
• The Pete Best: Murat Konar left just before "Running" exploded to pursue his true calling: software development. He worked at Farallon, Macromedia, Pixar, and is now a senior UX designer at Apple. He still performs with the band as an occasional guest.
