• California Doubling: A subtle example. The film was shot in Rome, but the convent is meant to be in rural Italy.
• Dueling Works: Immaculate was released on March 22nd, 2024, two weeks before The First Omen on April 5th, 2024. Both are horror movies about young American nuns who go to convents in Rome and become embroiled in conspiracies to birth the Antichrist, though the conspirators in Immaculate believe their conspiracy will produce a second coming of Christ.
• Fake Nationality: The Italian prior Father Tedeschi is played by a Spanish actor, Álvaro Morte.
• Produced by Cast Member: Sydney Sweeney who plays the lead in the film was also a producer.
• Production Posse: Director Michael Mohan reunites the star Sydney Sweeney, and the technical team from The Voyeurs.
• Saved from Development Hell: Sydney Sweeney screen tested for the film in 2014, but it failed to materialize. Years later, she became a producer, reached out to the writer, acquired and revised the script, found a director and financiers, then sold the film to Neon.
• What Could Have Been: In an earlier version of the script, the main characters were all high school age instead of adult nuns.
