- Limited Special Collector's Ultimate Edition: Like most Stern machines, there’s three editions: the basic Pro model, the upgraded Premium model (which, in this case, features modeled, purely aesthetic Groot arms on the playfield and upgrades the Rocket figurine and Orb model to move), and the top-tier Limited model (which features a shaker motor and further aesthetic upgrades).
- Real Song Theme Tune: Twofold – the game features both the original movie score and some of the licensed songs featured in Awesome Mix Vol. 1 (including "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "I Want You Back," and "Cherry Bomb").
- What Could Have Been:
- The backglass artwork was originally◊ done by "Dirty" Donny Gilles. According to former leaker and podcast host Kaneda, it was soundly rejected by Marvel, and the final artwork was done by a different artist (namely, Christopher Franchi).
- According to Keith Elwin, this game was originally planned to be themed after Iron Maiden, while his second game would be based on Guardians of the Galaxy. They ultimately ended up switching, leading to the final version of this game and Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast.
