• Development Gag:
  • The classical Japanese art with kaiju motifs are a leftover from an earlier pitch of a Godzilla anime set in feudal Japan.
  • Hedorah's cameo as an umibozu in a mural and as the substance inside of Kumonga were a compromise resulting from the character being cut from the kaiju roster.
• Missing Trailer Scene: Most of the scenes of Godzilla and the other kaiju seen in the trailers is test footage that does not appear in the actual show.
• Refitted for Sequel: Anguirus' spikes being able to form a protective shield was a power he would've had in the early drafts of Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack! when he was still one of the featured monsters.
• Science Marches On: Rodan, no longer having the restrictions of having to accommodate a suit actor, has been redesigned to look much more accurate to modern understandings of pterosaurs.
