aka: Freak Out

  • Cover Version: Liverpool indie band She Drew The Gun did a cover version of "Trouble Every Day" in 2019, suggesting that it's lost none of its relevance.
  • Multi-Disc Work: The album was one of the first double-LP releases in rock music, together with Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde just one week prior. Because the album's runtime just barely surpasses the one-hour mark, CD releases are able to fit it on one disc.
  • Referenced by...:
    • The 1967 song "Suzy Creamcheese" by Teddy And His Patches borrowed opening dialogue from "The Return Of The Son Of Monster Magnet".
    • The speech bubble on the front cover of Freak Out was seen on the album cover of Madvillain (consisting of MF Doom and Madlib)'s second CD "The Further Adventures Of Lord Quas" (2005), together with Wild Man Fischer's cut-out from the album cover of "An Evening With Wild Man Fischer" (1969).
    • In early vinyl pressings of Dead Kennedys' début album Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, the words "Well? Who are the Brain Police?" were etched in the run-out grooves.
