• Author's Saving Throw: Phisnom, who is open about his criticism towards the more recent Lighter and Softer entries in the Five Nights at Freddy's series, stated that his aim for this game was to create a much grittier and grounded take on the setting, aiming to appease fans who prefer that side of the games.
• Creator-Driven Successor: To Another FNAF Fangame: Open Source, a remake of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 which was taken down at the request of Scott Cawthon, but which gave Phisnom the opportunity to create Five Nights at Freddy's Plus in its place.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: On November 10th, just a few months after Phisnom resigned from the Fanverse, the official YouTube and Twitter accounts for the game were made private and all the teasers and videos that was hosted on there was taken down.
• Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Following Phisnom's stream of the Ruin DLC, someone on Twitter responded to his tweet over how boring he thought the game was by saying that his stream was boring. A few self-proclaimed fans of Phisnom's decided to harass them over it, sending them death threats and pictures of gore. When Phisnom was informed about the situation, he not only refused to stop them but made fun of the situation by making fake apologies with rickrolls in them.^note The FNAF-themed rickroll in question had previously appeared in a post by Kane Carter at a point when it was rumored by certain individuals the Fanverse was on the verge of cancellation, and was done to troll them. While he only did this due to underestimating the seriousness of what was going on, this combined with his general negativity towards the series and the fandom as a whole proved to be the straw that broke the camel's back, causing major backlash. Phisnom removed himself from development of Plus shortly afterwards and has since been banned from associating with the franchise in any way.
