Trivia / Family Guy Fanon

Go To

  • Author's Saving Throw: The fanfic does try to recorrect some of the blunders made in the original show in a few ways that include:
    • Fixing controversial episodes like "Screams of Silence: Story of Brenda Q." and "Not All Dogs Go to Heaven". The former remakes the scenes of Jeffery's abuse towards Brenda to be more subtle to both the characters and the audience, while the latter gives Brian a true reason to being Athiest (being how people pride themselves on the face that religion makes them feel like it holds the answers to the unanswered questions when it doesn't) and scraps Brian's mean-spirited speech to instead have him appealed to her (and Francis') morality, noted that God would disapprove of this behavior, or speak of how religion and science can coexist.
    • Expanding upon certain story arcs. With the Vinny and Brian moving out story arcs being given actual time to develop and grow compared to the mere three episodes their given in the original (the Vinny arc's expanded to the whole eleventh season while Brian's moving out arc lasts half of Season 16).
    • Giving characters who were made Out of Focus in the original show (the Brown-Tubb children and Kevin are examples) more time to shine or some characters who felt flat (like Loretta, Peter's parents Francis and Thelma, Horace and Mayor Wild West) some extra depth in their characters
  • Creator's Favorite: The creators have a few favorite one-time characters that they turned into recurring characters in the show's fanon.
    • Boyariffic: Change for a Buck, Hudson, Kimi, Brandy and Horace.
    • The Super Blackwing: Randall Fargus, Shelly Boothbishop, Adrianne Beaky, Francis and Thelma Griffin and Stan Thompson.
    • Both: Lou Spinazola
  • Milestone Celebration: There's a few extra milestones and changes for what episode is the milestone.
  • Recycled Script: The adaption incorporates a lot of gags from Fox.com promos for Season 1 and 2, and lifts deleted scenes cut from the real show
    • Halal-oween is a big example, as the episode's main plot is recycled from the Family Guy comic book, "Books Don't Taste Very Good by Chris Griffin". All that was changed was Brian's dialogue being rewritten to other characters due to it taking place during the arc where Brian's out of the house, Diane Simmons's role being replaced by Joyce Kinney and the addition of a sideplot about Lou getting pranked by some kids.
    • The 500th Episode 'Karma's a Bitch' is essentially The Amazing World of Gumball's episode 'The Finale' but with Family Guy characters and an additional court scene. It starts the same way and in a supposed deleted scene, it ended the same way.
  • Referenced by...: LS Mark came across the Season 19 episode "The Quagmire Show" in his research for the "Glenn Quagmire: A Pervert Without Purpose" video.
