Author's Saving Throw: Davros' visual reimagining in this special has been said by Russell T Davies to be an attempt to avoid potential negative stereotypes drawn from his previous depiction as an Evil Cripple, and he wants to have this be the canonical depiction of Davros going forwards. Whether it's a good thing or not is... a can of worms, to say the least.
