"What a nerd."
Both Vince and Jesse about each other after their first meeting.

Dorms is a 2013 animated web series, written by Domics and Spastik Chuwawa, and produced by the textbook company Slug Books. It follows freshman roommates Vince and Jesse in their adventures and misadventures exploring college, romance, and friendship. The episodes are typically 2-4 minutes long, and it went on for three seasons and 27 total episodes.

Dorms contains examples of:

  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: In Episode 12, Vince lampshades the fact that he and Jesse have had the same Professor for two different classes in two consecutive semesters. Amy says that it's probably for continuity's sake, and then quickly moves on before he can question it further.note
  • College Is "High School, Part 2": The series falls into this trope sometimes. For example, college students still make fun of "nerds", and the university has hallway lockers in episode 5.
  • Character Development: Each of the characters, especially the two main roommates:
    • At the beginning of the series, Jesse cannot stop playing the video game League of "Leggings", at the expense of other things, including his relationships and his grades. He struggles to give it up throughout the series, especially after Kim breaks up with him. By the season 2 finale, though, Jesse is able to prioritize.
    • In the first season, Vince obsesses over his classmate Tory, despite admitting that he only likes her because she is attractive. By the end of season 2, Vince focuses more on his friendships and even supports Tory going out with Stephen.
  • Heroic B So D: Jesse suffers from this in episodes 11-12 after Kim breaks up with him.
  • Hidden Depths: In season 1, Stephen was just a gag character, with his obsession with leeches being a Visual Pun based on his tendency to take credit for group projects he did not contribute to. In season 2, we see his kinder, more sympathetic side.
  • Nice Guy: Vince, for the most part. He is generally friendly with everyone he meets and makes an effort to get along with Jesse as best he can.
    • Also, Stephen. His main fault is slacking off in a group project in season one, after which he behaves like a nice human overall. When Vince and Jesse give him good advice on how to clean himself to attract females, Stephen seems genuinely grateful.
  • Two-Teacher School: As mentioned above, Lisarman seems to teach every class relevant to the plot. lampshaded by Vince in episodes 11 and 12.
