  • California Doubling: Though Doc Hollywood is set in South Carolina, it was filmed in Florida as well as Los Angeles.
  • Descended Creator: Author Neil B. Shulman worked on the film as an associate producer.
  • Directed by Cast Member: In the first Latin American Spanish dub, Gabriel Cobayassi is Ben Stone's voice actor as well as the ADR director.
  • Dueling Dubs:
    • Two Latin American Spanish dubs were made in Mexico. The first was dubbed at Auditel and the second was dubbed at Audiomaster 3000. Both dubs feature the late Esteban Siller as Dr. Aurelius Hogue and Gisela Casillas as Mary Owens.
    • The film was dubbed into Japanese three times. The first was released in 1991 for a home media release, with the second premiering in 1995 as part of Fuji TV's "Golden Screen Theater" programming block, and the third premiering in 1996 as a part of TV Asahi's "Sunday Screen Theater" programming block.
