  • Troubled Production: Shooting went smoothly, but post-production was a different story. Despite having been given total creative control of the film, and having delivered the gory Psycho clone demanded by Roger Corman, Corman stormed out of the screening room upon seeing the rough cut and demanded changes to the film. Among these changes were new scenes (not shot by Francis Ford Coppola) which featured a joke character who was killed off by the film's axe murderer, plus a tacked-on prologue tying into the film's promotional gimmicknote , both of which were added just to pad out the runtime. Ironically, Coppola's problems on Dementia 13 would be downright quaint compared to what was in store for him...
