  • Cut Song: During rehearsals, Mozart cut Guiglielmo's long, showy Act 1 aria "Rivolgete a lui lo sguardo" and replaced it with a much shorter aria. "Rivolgete" was published separately, and some productions put it back into the opera for singers who want a Show Stopper.
  • Orphaned Reference: Possibly. When the men reveal their true identities in the Act 2 finale, they sing two reprises of earlier numbers along with one tune that hasn't been heard in the opera before. It's been speculated that the seemingly new tune (to the words "A voi s'inchina, bella damina") is from a Cut Song that has not survived.
