Trivia / Cool Cat Fights Coronavirus

Go To

  • Acting for Two: In addition to Derek appearing in a scene, he also voiced both Cool Cat and Dirty Dog. Savage doesn't have a wide vocal range, however, so all three characters have similar voices.
  • Alan Smithee: The original unlisted version of Cool Cat Fights Coronavirus credited Enrique Lugo as Cool Cat. The edited version (which is currently on YouTube) instead credits an "Angel De Hope" (Savage used "Angel Hope" as a pseudonym for whenever he got in the Cool Cat costume).
  • Blooper:
    • The Dirty Dog costume is much cheaper-made than the Cool Cat costume. This is best exemplified when he does cartwheels; you can see actor Andre Matthews' stomach through the Dirty Dog costume. The costume also lacks feet, meaning Matthews' shoes are easily seen.
    • When Dirty Dog pours magic sauce on the coronavirus ball to make it big, you can see some stains on his shirt.
  • Copiously Credited Creator: In addition to producing, writing, editing and directing, Savage is also credited for playing Daddy Derek and voicing Cool Cat and Dirty Dog, camerawork, sound editing and mixing, etc.
  • The Danza: Angela is played by Angela Lugo.
  • No Budget: Even less than its predecessor; despite being crowdfunded at almost $8,000, the end product looks like a home movie that could easily be shot with one's smartphone and edited in Windows Movie Maker if even that.
  • The Other Darrin: Due to the original actor Jason Johnson cutting ties with Derek Savage after Cool Cat: Kids Superhero, Enrique Lugo now acts in the Cool Cat costume while Savage himself does the voice.
  • Real-Life Relative: The actresses for Angela and Britney (Angela and Renata Lugo), the Cool Cat suit actor (Enrique Lugo), and the set teacher (Nina Lugo) are all from the same family.
  • Recycled Soundtrack: The theme song from Cool Cat Saves the Kids is heard during the scene in which the pictures are seen.
  • Stock Footage: The same "dancing Cool Cat" footage from Cool Cat Stops Bullying and other Cool Cat films is used in the credits.
